hi,

i just had (yet) another "stuck in park" moment.  a little rockin' got me rollin' but an hour or so later, after driving + parking + driving, the gearbox icon / trouble light on the dash lit up.  i cleared the light by disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes.

is there an easy way to clear the PCM codes?  perhaps a paper-clip in the right place where the OBD-II connector is located?

thanks

I don't think it will help you. The best way is to visit a local transmission (automatic) shop and to check for:

1.) oil level (5R55N have a different method of checking fluid level)
2.) oil smell
3.) oil color
4.) metallic parts if are present
5.) clogged oil filter replacing?

Hello regarding your gearbox warning light problems,

did you manage to find out to disengage the light?

i keep getting a "hearbox arning light messege on the dashboard"

there is nothing wrong had it checked out a pure computer error, however , everytime the ife drives the Jag she keeps moaning at me, about thfis warning...
can you please inform me how to manually remove this error / fault code?

kind thanks

Jef

or does anyone else know Kev?

I wrote PM to you jeffcooz. I suggest checking transmission oil level..... or perhaps even replacing filter and removing the pan to see if there are any metallic parts present near the magnet on the pan bottom. You will need to use Mercon V to refill the tranny and correctly fill the fluid level.
