2003 Jag with ZF in it.  deal - gearbox fault engine light came on and nothing seems to be wrong - car drives SMOOTH?!? all gears work seems like? PLEASE HELP!

there was 3 codes:

P0741

Torque converter CKT Performance or Stuck off

P1111

Manufacturer Control Fuel Air Metering

and then P0741.

any ideas?!

heres what i discovered so far:

Engine Control Module – P1111 - This code signifies that the service cycle has been completed correctly and is purely an information code.

calms me down for one, but i`ve never done any service cycles since half-year ago!  just bug - erase and forget or what? also is there a way to see - maybe my Jag dealership did a bad job?!?!

P0741 TCM / Control valve failure.Transmission mechanical failure. Torque converter clutch pressure
regulator solenoid stuck open

I think you got problem with torque converter clutch pressure solenoid, hopefully. Otherwise some may be a bigger problem (mechanical).

Drive the vehicle at 113 km/h
(70 mph), then reduce the
throttle angle until the torque
convertor locks. Ensure that
the torque convertor remains
locked for at least 1 minute.

thanks a lot, i`ll try and let you know here what happened!

mean time i tried to shop around for that solenoid and could not find one anywhere! jag dealer told me i need to buy the whole valvebody for $2000+.... ((( is it true?

is there any other solution?

i also know a guy, who`s pretty good with rebuilding trannys, but he never messed around with Jags or ZFs and doesnt know whether he wants to get into all that? what do you think? will it be hard for him?

You can get a rebuilt tranny for around 2k and shipped. That is just too much for just an valve body !

look in ebay they go for 1.5k for 5R55N, but ZF maybe a bit different pricing. Look for phoenix re manufactured transmissions company.
