Hi everyone, I am new to this sight and have read many of the problems with these vechicles.  I recently purchased a used 2000 s-type 4.0 , 1 month ago , it has 47500 km on it, I also have all the service records for it.  I purchased this vechicle for my wife, which has been her favourite car since they came out, but it is starting to already give me a headache. I have read also on many other sights about" sputtering idle ", some say to change the valve cover gaskets,  change the engine coil, change the air filter, have your car reprogramed,  could be carbon build up in the intake system, throttle position sensor, idle air control valve.  etc....... My service engine light is NOT on.
Does regular unleaded 87 octane gas make such a difference and could this be the problem, I checked in the manual it says 91 octane only?  CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP WITH THIS. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL CAR OTHER WISE, I previously owned a mercedes  for 8 years  with zero problems.  THANKYOU everyone.

Are you able to visit a shop that can read Jaguar fault codes? The error code(s) will show where is the problem and what coils you need to replace.
