can anyone tell me how many liters of motor oil is required for 3L oil change with filter ? Is it around 6.5L or is it really 8L (as my car shop guys says)..?

hello..it depends of it's T-bar handle or loop handle.

thus, 3.0L V6 up to 2001 engine with full oil filter change:


t-bar handle - 5.7L
loop handle - 6.5L

of oil.

I usually use 0W/40 but that depeneds on your location climate, driving style and other factors...

Hi Adm3,with regards to oil capacity my 2003 3.0lt s-type has a t-handle dip stick but the handbook says 6.5lts.I have read somewhere about a change of dipstick, could mine have been missed and am I running with only 5.7lts instead of 6.5,regards Ian

I would go for 6L and see what is the level, then add more if necessary.
By the way, I am using 5W30 semi-synthetic oil nowadays.
