5R55N problems - missing 4 or 5th gear

If you are experiencing 5R55N tranny problems with missing 4 or 5th gear and/or C-solenoid problems with 734 and/or 735 error codes - the problem is the valve 4-3 spring (sonnax code: 56947J-S1) and it costs less than $10.

It can be replaced without removing tranny...all you will need is to drain the oil, remove the pre-stroke valve and replace the spring..

You may also need to replace gasket and oil filter.
