6.0 V12

I have recently installed a 6.0 in my 83 XJS GT. At the rear of the intake in the valley there are 2 tubes that connect to rubber hoses and then to the throttle bodies on each side......... I am getting an oily residence just by the throttle bends.... are these pipes breathers of some kind. I do not have a book on the 6.0..... can these pipes cause smoking from the exhausts if the oil level is too high/////////
