want to be a step ahead, you know. especially about the ZF tranny. mine was working for 70.000 and fine so far, but the fact that the new one cost around 5000 makes me want to take care about the one i already have.

For how long ZF goes before it totally dies anyways?

Thanks for all the thoughts and feedbacks.

You should be safe with ZF transmission, thank God you don't have 5R55N Smiley
You should ask a local transmission shop if they can change the oil/filter....

yeah, when buying - thank God i found this forum and read about 5R55N so i knew what i was going to get - ZF! Wink

change the oil and filter - some people saying that it might actually make things worse. is it the real deal? why?
how is it needs to be done to be done right and not make things worse? special oil? special filter? special procedure?

Thank you very much for your responce!

ZF is pretty common transmission and I am sure most transmission repair shops can easily serve it. You shouldn't worry much, but oil and filter change is preferable (they market it "filled for life")... but we all know... Smiley
