Buying a 2003 X Type (2.5 liter 5 speed)

I'm looking at buying a 2003 X Type with the 2.5 liter engine and a manual transmission and about 50,000 miles on it.

I was hoping someone knowledgeable about these cars could fill me in. What should I look for as far as trouble signs to avoid? Are there certain places to look for rust? Are there certain things that commonly fail? Are there common expensive repairs that I should watch out for?
